Ingredients:

  • 2 (3.4 oz) packages of instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 1 (14 oz) can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 (12 oz) container of whipped topping
  • 1 box of vanilla wafers
  • 4-5 ripe bananas, sliced
All The Ingredients Needed To Make Banana Pudding

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix and whole milk. Whisk together until the mixture starts to thicken, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract, and continue to stir until everything is well combined.
  3. Once the mixture is fully mixed, fold in the whipped topping until it's fully incorporated.
  4. In a large 9x13 inch baking dish, add a layer of vanilla wafers to cover the bottom of the dish.
  5. Add a layer of sliced bananas over the vanilla wafers.
  6. Repeat the layers of vanilla wafers and bananas until all of the ingredients are used up, with the final layer being vanilla wafers.
  7. Pour the pudding mixture over the top of the layered dessert, making sure to spread it evenly over the top.
  8. Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least two hours, or until the pudding has set and the vanilla wafers have softened.
  9. When you're ready to serve the banana pudding, top it with additional whipped topping and a sprinkle of crushed vanilla wafers if desired.

Tips:

  • Make sure the pudding mixture is fully whisked and doesn't have any lumps before adding in the whipped topping.
  • Use ripe bananas that are starting to get brown spots for the best flavor and texture.
  • If you don't have a large 9x13 inch baking dish, you can use smaller dishes or cups to create individual servings of the dessert.
  • Feel free to substitute the vanilla wafers with graham crackers or other types of cookies for a different flavor.
  • For an extra sweet touch, drizzle caramel sauce over the top of the finished pudding before serving.
