Banana Bread With 2 Bananas And Brown Sugar
Banana bread is a classic American dish that has been enjoyed for generations. With its moist texture and sweet flavor, it's no wonder why banana bread is still a favorite today. This article will guide you through the process of making banana bread with 2 bananas and brown sugar.
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2. Mash 2 ripe bananas in a mixing bowl. Add 1/2 cup of brown sugar and 1/2 cup of softened unsalted butter. Mix well.
3. Add 2 eggs, one at a time, and mix well after each addition. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and mix well.
4. In a separate bowl, mix 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and mix well.
5. If desired, add 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts to the batter and stir until evenly distributed.
6. Pour the batter into a greased 9x5 inch loaf pan. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the bread comes out clean.
7. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes:
• For best results, use very ripe bananas that are almost black in color.
• For a healthier option, substitute half of the all-purpose flour for whole wheat flour.
• If you don't have unsalted butter on hand, you can use salted butter and omit the additional salt.
• Banana bread can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
